What fine line actually is.
Fine line tattooing uses very thin needle groupings to lay down a single continuous line with almost no weight variation. There is no shading to hide behind and no bold outline carrying the shape, so the drawing has to be right before the machine starts. That is why the work begins on paper.
Lex has spent eleven years on this kind of precision, with a background in painting that shapes how he handles composition, contrast and negative space. Fine line rewards restraint. The space you leave empty does as much work as the ink.
